The Domain
Founded in 1947 in the village of Bergheim, Domaine Marcel Deiss is one of the most original estates in Alsace.
Under Jean-Michel Deiss, the domaine revived the old Alsatian practice of complantation: planting several grape varieties together in the same vineyard and harvesting them together. In a region known for single-variety wines, the idea is radical but simple: the site, not the grape, should be the signature of the wine.
Recognised worldwide as a leader in biodynamic viticulture, the estate continues this terroir-first philosophy with the next generation of the Deiss family.
The Style
The Deiss range is organised by terroir rather than by grape. Alongside a few varietal wines, the heart of the portfolio is its field blends from Bergheim's finest sites, including the Grands Crus Altenberg de Bergheim, Schoenenbourg and Mambourg.
The wines are complex, textured and deeply mineral, with a natural balance between richness and freshness. Exceptionally versatile at the table, they also age gracefully for decades.
