Chateau Thivin

Acquired in 1877 by Zaccharie and Marguerite Geoffray during a year of hard frost and phylloxera, Château Thivin has remained in the same family for six generations on a property whose stone manor dates to the 14th century. It was here that Claude-Thomas Geoffray helped carve out the Côte de Brouilly appellation in the 1930s, distinguishing the blue-granite slopes of Mont Brouilly from the wider Beaujolais.
