Pessac-Leognan Wine

Created in 1987, Pessac-Léognan is the youngest of Bordeaux's communal appellations, carved out of the northern Graves to cover roughly 1,600 hectares of gravel terraces just south of Bordeaux city. Its finest estates, including Château Haut-Brion and Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion, carry Cru Classé status from the historic 1953 Graves classification, the only Bordeaux ranking to recognise both red and white wines.
