Clos de Beze

Its origins traced to around 630 AD, when the Abbey of Bèze first planted vines on this slope above Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze was granted Grand Cru status on 31 July 1937 and today covers roughly 15 hectares of hard limestone and marl immediately beside its neighbour Chambertin. United with the adjoining Chambertin climat in 1702, Clos de Bèze is often considered the more consistent of the two, and while AOC rules allow its wine to be sold simply as Chambertin, growers rarely exercise that right given the strength of its own reputation. Among the great wines of Clos de Beze, you will find in particular Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin 'Clos de Beze' Grand Cru Red 2022 and more at The Vintage Wine Club Hong Kong.
