Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf

Built around 1730 as a farmhouse known simply as 'Le Tertre,' the property took its present name — loosely 'the hill of the belching cattle,' after the grazing land it once was — when François Mitjavile released his first vintage in 1978, farming barely 6 hectares of steep, south-facing limestone slopes in Saint-Émilion. Eligible for classification yet deliberately left outside it, Tertre Roteboeuf built its reputation on an unusually Merlot-dominant blend from old vines averaging some 40 years, made by a family that has held the property since 1961. Among the great wines of Tertre Roteboeuf, you will find in particular Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red 2007 and more at The Vintage Wine Club Hong Kong.
