Hautes-Cotes de Beaune

Created as its own AOC in 1961, Hautes-Cotes de Beaune covers the hillside plateau rising behind the main Côte de Beaune escarpment, a scattered patchwork of some 800 hectares spread across roughly two dozen villages set back from the famous slope. Sitting at notably higher elevation than its illustrious neighbours, the appellation carries no village or Premier Cru distinctions and instead offers fresher, more affordable Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that have made it an increasingly sought-after source of everyday Burgundy.
