Saint-Julien

Granted AOC status in 1936, Saint-Julien is one of the most tightly drawn of the Médoc's great communal appellations, its gravel rises covering some 920 hectares between Margaux and Pauillac on the left bank of the Gironde. No Saint-Julien estate reached the top rank of the 1855 Classification, yet the appellation still counts eleven Crus Classés among its handful of châteaux, from Second Growths such as the Léoville estates down to Fourth Growths such as Château Beychevelle, giving it one of the highest concentrations of classified growths anywhere in Bordeaux. Among the great wines of Saint-Julien, you will find in particular Chateau Beychevelle 'Amiral de Beychevelle' Saint-Julien Red 2013 and more at The Vintage Wine Club Hong Kong.
