Rully

Granted AOC status in 1939, Rully is a Côte Chalonnaise appellation covering the communes of Rully and Chagny, its vineyards spread across roughly 360 hectares of limestone and marl slopes once tended for the abbey of Saint-Bénigne and the Dukes of Burgundy. Around two-thirds of production is white wine from Chardonnay, and 23 Premier Cru climats sit alongside a long-standing role, dating to the early 19th century, as one of Burgundy's principal sources of base wine for Crémant de Bourgogne.
