Bruno Clair represents the sixth generation of a winegrowing family whose roots in Marsannay trace back to 1919, when his grandfather Joseph Clair married into local vineyards; the present domaine was established when Bruno struck out on his own in the 1980s. Today the estate farms 27 hectares across eight villages of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, producing some 32 different appellations, with grand cru additions such as Corton-Charlemagne and Bonnes-Mares acquired along the way.
