Pomerol Wine

Granted AOC status in 1936, Pomerol is one of Bordeaux's smallest and most singular appellations, covering barely 800 hectares of clay and gravel on the right bank near Libourne. Uniquely among Bordeaux's great appellations, Pomerol has never adopted an official classification, yet estates such as Château Pétrus are informally regarded as equal to any First Growth.
