Bonnes-Mares

Granted Grand Cru status on 8 December 1936, Bonnes-Mares is one of the largest Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte de Nuits, its roughly 15 hectares of clay-flint topsoil over Jurassic limestone and marl straddling the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. Its wines are markedly more powerful and tannic than the delicate reds of neighbouring Musigny, prized for a full-bodied, long-ageing style capable of developing for thirty years or more.
