Corton

Granted AOC status in 1937, Corton is the Côte de Beaune's only red Grand Cru appellation, its vines climbing the hill of Corton across the communes of Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny and Pernand-Vergelesses over close to 100 hectares. It is also the largest Grand Cru in all of Burgundy, yielding mostly red wine from Pinot Noir alongside a small proportion of white Corton from Chardonnay, standing alongside its more famous white sibling Corton-Charlemagne at the very top of the Côte de Beaune hierarchy.
