Ladoix

First recognised as a communal AOC in 1937, with its Premier Cru climats delimited in 1970, Ladoix is one of the smallest and least-known villages of the Côte de Beaune, its roughly 100 hectares of vines tucked at the northern foot of the Corton hill. Uniquely among the region's villages, part of the revered Corton and Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru vineyards spill into Ladoix-Serrigny's boundaries, while the commune's own wines, mostly red and drawn from 11 Premier Cru sites, remain comparatively little known outside Burgundy.
