Pouilly-Fuisse

Granted AOC status on 11 September 1936, Pouilly-Fuissé is the leading white-wine appellation of the Mâconnais, its roughly 760 hectares of limestone hillsides spread across the four communes of Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré. Made exclusively from Chardonnay and long considered a rival to the Côte de Beaune's finest whites at gentler prices, the appellation saw this standing confirmed in September 2020 when 22 climats were promoted to Premier Cru.
