Chateau L'Escadre

Acquired in 1832 by the Carreau family from a former Admiral of the French Navy, Château L'Escadre takes its name from the naval squadron, or 'escadre', he once commanded. Still in family hands today, the estate farms 32 hectares of clay-and-limestone soils on the right bank of the Gironde, within the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation.
