Tertre Roteboeuf

First bottled under its present name with the 1978 vintage, Château Tertre-Roteboeuf was reborn when François Mitjavile returned to his wife's family farmhouse on the Saint-Émilion hillside and began an intensely hands-on approach to winemaking. From just 6 hectares of limestone and clay slopes planted mostly to Merlot, he pioneered late picking and warm-cellar barrel ageing that have since made this a cult wine among collectors.
