Tasting Note

The 2024 Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot Fleurie “Les Moriers” is a fresh yet finely structured Cru Beaujolais, offering a more muscular, Burgundian expression of Fleurie with strong aging potential of 5 to 8 years or more. The nose is intense and vibrant, showing crunchy cranberry, red cherry, and a distinctive spicy whole-bunch character. The palate is energetic and precise, built around fresh forest berries and plummy red fruit, with excellent tension throughout. Silky, fine-grained tannins provide structure and depth, while the finish is persistent and refined, with the “Les Moriers” site delivering more power and complexity than the estate’s “Origines” cuvée.

More About The Winery

Founded in 2018 in Fleurie, Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot has rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting names in Beaujolais. After years of experience in Burgundy and Beaujolais, Grégoire Hoppenot established his own domaine, now covering around 10 hectares across some of the region’s finest crus, including Fleurie and Morgon.

His philosophy is centered on organic farming, low intervention, and parcel-by-parcel vinification, creating wines that are precise, vibrant, and deeply expressive of their granite-based terroirs. The result is elegant Gamay with freshness, energy, and silky tannins, offering both immediate pleasure and aging potential.

From the delicate and perfumed Fleurie “Origines” to the more structured and mineral-driven Morgon Corcelette, Hoppenot’s cuvées are acclaimed for their purity, finesse, and sense of place.
