Tasting notes
The wine pours an intense, deep garnet-purple, edged with subtle violet highlights. The nose is highly complex but tightly wound at first, opening gradually into fresh black plum, dark cherry, black raspberry, and wild blueberry, complemented by violet, lilac, and jasmine tea, then licorice and a savory hint of espresso and chocolate-mint. On the palate it's medium-bodied and structurally taut, exceptionally lively and juicy, built around a core of salty red and dark berries intertwined with spice. The tannins are chiseled, firm, and fine-grained, giving an elegant bite that folds smoothly into a velouté, suave texture. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, closing on profound mineral accents of crushed stone, iron, chalk, and graphite.
