Tasting notes

The Vacqueyras Grande Garrigue is a quintessentially Provençal wine, offering a complex and expressive profile that bursts with ripe red fruits, garrigue herbs, and warm spice. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers a round, supple, and seductive palate, brimming with character and regional charm.

A blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and 5% Mourvèdre, the wine is vinified in temperature-controlled tanks and aged in a combination of stainless steel and oak barrels (1–4 years old) to preserve freshness while adding texture and depth.

This is an incredibly satisfying Vacqueyras, ready to enjoy now but also capable of evolving beautifully over the next 8–10 years.

More About The Winery

A historic family name in the Southern Rhône, Domaine Alain Jaume has been crafting wines for nearly two centuries, with roots dating back to 1826. Today, the Jaume family continues to produce some of the most consistent and expressive wines across key appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Côtes du Rhône.

The estate’s vineyards are spread across diverse terroirs, most notably the iconic galets roulés of Châteauneuf-du-Pape—large, heat-retaining stones that promote optimal ripening and concentration. Combined with clay and sandy soils, they contribute to wines of both power and balance.

Grenache is the backbone of the domaine, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre, resulting in wines that reflect the warmth and generosity of the Rhône while maintaining freshness and structure. The style is classic and approachable, offering ripe red and dark fruits, garrigue, spice, and subtle peppery notes.

Under the label Grand Veneur, the estate produces some of its most renowned cuvées, known for their depth, refinement, and ageing potential. The winemaking philosophy balances tradition with modern precision, ensuring consistency while respecting the identity of each terroir.

Domaine Alain Jaume represents the essence of the Southern Rhône: sun-drenched, generous wines with structure and authenticity, crafted by a family whose expertise spans generations.
