100% Viognier
Tasting notes
This bright, limpid pale yellow Viognier offers an intense yet delicate nose, revealing aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruits. On the palate, it is fresh, mineral, and airy, with expressive notes of white peach and pear taking center stage. With a bit of aeration, the fruit deepens, evolving into hints of apricot that add complexity and charm. Crafted with finesse and freshness in mind, this is a refined Viognier that showcases purity, elegance, and impressive aromatic persistence.
More About The Winery
Founded in 1826 by Mathieu Jaume, Domaine du Grand Veneur has grown into one of the leading family estates of the southern Rhône Valley. Today, the estate is managed by the 5th and 6th generations — Alain Jaume and his children Christophe, Sébastien, and Hélène — who continue a tradition of crafting wines that combine heritage, terroir, and modern precision.
Based in the northern part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the domaine spans 225 acres across four appellations: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône (including Les Champauvins), Lirac, and Vacqueyras. While historically known for its whites, since 1995 the focus has been on powerful and expressive reds, alongside fresh whites and elegant rosés.
All vineyards are farmed under certified organic agriculture, with practices that include light plowing, natural compost, controlled yields, green harvesting, and meticulous hand harvesting and sorting. This commitment to detail ensures wines of concentration, finesse, and terroir expression.
