Tasting notes
Clos de la Bergerie is drawn from the domaine's holding within the Roche aux Moines climat and shows a slightly richer, more overtly fruited profile than its Coulée de Serrant sibling, while retaining the estate's signature drive. Expect ripe orchard and stone fruit, notes of honey and dried herbs, and a saline, mineral edge from the schist soils, carried by taut, racy acidity to a long, savoury finish.

Clos de la Bergerie lies within the Savennières-Roche aux Moines appellation, one of the historic terroirs on the Joly family's estate overlooking the Loire. Nicolas Joly converted the whole property to biodynamic farming in the early 1980s, becoming one of the movement's most influential advocates worldwide, and the vines here are worked by hand on steep, south-facing slopes. Alongside the Coulée de Serrant monopole, Clos de la Bergerie is one of the domaine's most sought-after single-vineyard expressions of Chenin Blanc.
