Tasting notes
The estate's base red cuvée shows intense aromas of ripe red fruit, soft spice and floral notes, true to Sciaccarellu's naturally perfumed character. The palate is fresh and graceful, with silky tannins and a distinctive granitic minerality drawn from the estate's granite-sand soils, finishing long, elegant and faintly saline. It's a wine that favours precision and aromatic lift over sheer weight.

Domaine de Vaccelli farms around 13 hectares of granite hillside vineyards in Cognocoli-Monticchi, south of Ajaccio in Corsica's Vallée du Taravo, where the vines sit close to native maquis scrubland and sea breezes. Gérard Courrèges continues the estate founded by his father Alain, bringing a terroir-focused, Burgundy-influenced approach that champions Sciaccarellu, Corsica's indigenous red grape, as an expressive alternative to more internationally familiar varieties. The domaine farms organically and favours natural winemaking, including the use of concrete eggs and demi-muids for fermentation and ageing.
