Tasting notes
A rare white from a domaine best known for its reds, this Chinon Blanc shows classic Chenin aromatics of white flowers, apricot and quince, with a fine mineral edge and lively freshness on the palate. The balance between ripeness and acidity is well judged, giving a wine that's pleasurable young but has enough structure to hold for a couple of years in bottle.
More About The Winery
Domaine Philippe Alliet is run by the father-and-son team of Philippe and Pierre Alliet from Cravant-les-Coteaux, in the Chinon appellation of the Loire Valley. While the estate's reputation rests primarily on its Cabernet Franc reds, farmed with low yields and meticulous vineyard care, the Alliets also produce a small amount of Chenin Blanc, made with the same hands-off, terroir-focused philosophy that defines the rest of the range. The domaine is regarded as one of the leading names in Chinon.
