Tasting notes
Chioso Novo Rouge shows a bright, fluid red colour typical of Sciaccarellu, with a nose of great persistence built on red fruit, candied raspberry and warm sweet spice. The palate is soft-textured but well balanced, its natural juiciness kept in check by fine, granite-derived tannins and a long, aromatic finish. Drawn from a parcel of the domaine's oldest vines, it is a more intimate, single-variety counterpart to the estate's blended cuvées.
More About The Winery
Chioso Novo is sourced from the oldest vines at Domaine de Vaccelli, the Courrèges family estate in the Taravo valley of southern Corsica, farmed organically since 2008 and certified since 2019. Gérard Courrèges, the estate's third-generation winemaker, ferments with indigenous yeasts before ageing the wine to preserve the purity of old-vine Sciaccarellu fruit. The cuvée reflects the domaine's broader focus on Corsica's traditional grape varieties and its granite hillside terroir over international styles or varieties.
