Blason d'Issan 2017 offers ripe raspberry, cherry and blackcurrant fruit backed by a graphite edge, with silky tannins and balanced acidity reflecting the fresher, more classically proportioned character of the 2017 Margaux vintage. Drawn partly from the estate's youngest vines, it shows an effortless, fresh, elegant style that is already approachable while still carrying real structure.
More About The Winery
Chateau d'Issan is one of the oldest wine-producing properties in the Medoc, with a history said to stretch back to the 12th century, and today is classified as a Troisieme Cru Classe of the 1855 classification. Bought in ruins by the Cruse family in 1945 and rebuilt over subsequent decades, the estate was transformed from the late 1990s under Emmanuel Cruse, who introduced rigorous sorting and declassifies roughly 40% of the crop each year into the second wine, Blason d'Issan - giving drinkers an accessible taste of Margaux's perfume and finesse.
