Tasting notes
Petale de Rose lives up to its name with a pale, petal-pink hue and a delicate nose of pomelo, blood orange and pomegranate, joined by nectarine and peach. The palate is soft and pulpy with real vibrancy, closing on a sapid, saline finish of pomegranate seed and blood-orange rind - a textural, gastronomic style of rose rather than a purely aperitif one.
More About The Winery
Chateau La Tour de l'Eveque, run by Regine Sumeire, is one of the pioneering biodynamic estates in Cotes de Provence, certified by Biodyvin. The vineyards are hand-worked with natural animal fertilizers, buds are trimmed and green-harvested to limit yields, and part of the vineyard is even ploughed by horse. For Petale de Rose, only the first-quality free-run and gently pressed juices are used, in keeping with the estate's low-intervention, terroir-focused philosophy.
