Tasting note
The Domaine Marcel Deiss Engelgarten White 2023 is a bone-dry, complex field blend that brilliantly expresses its gravel-rich terroir. It opens with vibrant citrus tones—lemon pith, orange zest, and crushed lime leaf—layered with ripe apple, pear, and Mirabelle plum, as well as delicate floral, flinty, and spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and texturally dynamic: initially crisp and crunchy before unfolding into a juicy, generous, and precise mid-palate. Ripe white and subtle exotic fruit flavours are supported by refreshing acidity, a touch of creaminess, and fine tannins that provide structure. The finish is long, zesty, and distinctly saline, leaving a stony impression that is unmistakably Engelgarten.
