Tasting notes

The nose is intense and layered, revealing dense notes of cherries, blackberries, and freshly ground coffee. On the palate, it is rich and warm, offering impressive body and length, with silky, well-integrated tannins. The oak is used with precision and restraint, adding depth without overpowering the fruit. A refined, haute couture wine crafted in a modern, elegant style.

More About The Winery

Domaine de l’Aurage is a Right Bank Bordeaux estate located in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, owned by Caroline and Louis Mitjavile, also known for Château Tertre Roteboeuf in Saint-Émilion. Created in the late 1990s, the estate quickly gained recognition for producing wines that combine richness, precision, and strong terroir expression.

The vineyard is planted on clay-limestone slopes, a continuation of the Saint-Émilion plateau, ideally suited to Merlot, which dominates the blend, complemented by Cabernet Franc. The focus is on low yields, careful vineyard work, and optimal ripeness to achieve concentration while maintaining freshness and balance.

Winemaking follows a meticulous and traditional approach, with gentle extraction and ageing in French oak barrels to enhance texture and complexity. The wines of Domaine de l’Aurage are known for their depth, velvety tannins, and layered dark fruit profile, offering a refined and expressive interpretation of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux.
