Officially created in 1936, the Bordeaux appellation is the largest protected-designation vineyard in France, spanning the entire Gironde department across both banks of its great estuary. It is the only French appellation to produce every style — red, rosé, dry white and sweet white — with a hierarchy running from simple Bordeaux AOC bottlings up to the storied Crus Classés of the Médoc and Saint-Émilion. Among the great wines of Bordeaux, you will find in particular Château L'Escadre Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux and Château Haut-Simard and more at The Vintage Wine Club Hong Kong.
