Tasting notes

The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis "En la Rue de Vergy" from Domaine Bruno Clair is a vibrant and expressive red Burgundy, capturing the refined elegance of this unique hillside terroir. The nose opens with lively red berry aromas, layered with subtle spice and delicate floral undertones.

On the palate, the wine is precise and tightly structured, with refined tannins, a silky texture, and a striking mineral backbone that drives the long, focused finish. The flavors are intensely mineral-driven, balanced by fresh acidity and pure red fruit tones.

While already showing finesse and clarity, this cuvée is still relatively tightly wound and will reward cellaring, gaining depth and complexity over the next 5 to 10 years.

More About The Winery

Domaine Bruno Clair is one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines, with over 23 hectares of vineyards spread across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The estate produces exceptional Pinot Noir, alongside select parcels of Chardonnay and Aligoté, from regional Bourgogne to prestigious Premier and Grand Cru sites. Its most celebrated holdings include Bonnes-Mares, Corton-Charlemagne, and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze.

The domaine’s history traces back to Joseph Clair, founder of the famed Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. After its dissolution in 1985, Bruno Clair reassembled key parcels from his family’s vineyards in 1986, gradually expanding to include iconic terroirs such as Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, and Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle.

Committed to authenticity, Bruno Clair practices sustainable viticulture, using only natural compost and avoiding chemical fertilizers. Vineyard selection focuses on old vines with natural disease resistance, ensuring both quality and longevity.

Today, Domaine Bruno Clair is renowned for wines that embody precision, elegance, and terroir expression, making it a benchmark estate for Burgundy enthusiasts worldwide
