Fugue de Nénin 2016 offers the juicy, generous fruit typical of this excellent Pomerol vintage, with wild berry and dark cherry aromas, hints of violet and savoury spice, and a silky, medium-bodied palate. Tannins are ripe and accessible, and the wine is built for gourmet, near-term drinking while the grand vin continues to develop in bottle.
More About The Winery
Château Nénin is a historic Pomerol property whose vineyard, on a clay-rich plateau close to Château Trotanoy, has been in continuous production since the 19th century. The estate was acquired in 1997 by the Delon family, who also own Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, and has since undergone significant investment, including tighter selection and reduced yields from the 2015 vintage onward under consulting oenologist Michel Rolland. Fugue de Nénin is the estate's second wine, drawn from younger vines and declassified parcels, offering an earlier-drinking window onto the property's Merlot-dominant style.
