Tasting notes
Granit Blanc is a pure, mineral expression of Vermentino, its nose showing citron, white flowers and a flinty, gunpowder-like edge alongside almond and a saline, iodine-like note. The palate is complete and sapid, the wine's granite terroir pushing it beyond the simple, easy-drinking register typical of the variety toward something more textured and long. It is best served cool and has the structure to develop further with a few years in bottle.
More About The Winery
Granit is named for the specific high, granite-soil parcel of Domaine de Vaccelli's vineyard from which it is sourced, part of the estate's holdings above Cognocoli-Monticchi in the Taravo valley. The domaine, farmed organically since 2008 and certified since 2019, is run by third-generation vigneron Gérard Courrèges, who ferments with wild yeasts and ages in older, low-toast barrels to let the granite terroir speak. This site-specific bottling reflects Vaccelli's broader philosophy of identifying and isolating its most distinctive parcels rather than blending everything into a single estate wine.
