Tasting notes
The 2022 Marsannay "Les Grasses Têtes" from Domaine Bruno Clair is a powerful yet elegant expression of this distinctive vineyard. It opens with intense, bright red fruit aromas—think cranberry, red cherry, and wild raspberry—layered with subtle spice and a touch of earth.
On the palate, the wine offers a refined structure, driven by fresh acidity and finely etched tannins. The style is energetic and focused, finishing long and slightly austere, with a persistent mineral and savory character that is typical of the “Grasses Têtes” terroir.
More About The Winery
Domaine Bruno Clair is one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines, with over 23 hectares of vineyards spread across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The estate produces exceptional Pinot Noir, alongside select parcels of Chardonnay and Aligoté, from regional Bourgogne to prestigious Premier and Grand Cru sites. Its most celebrated holdings include Bonnes-Mares, Corton-Charlemagne, and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze.
The domaine’s history traces back to Joseph Clair, founder of the famed Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. After its dissolution in 1985, Bruno Clair reassembled key parcels from his family’s vineyards in 1986, gradually expanding to include iconic terroirs such as Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, and Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle.
Committed to authenticity, Bruno Clair practices sustainable viticulture, using only natural compost and avoiding chemical fertilizers. Vineyard selection focuses on old vines with natural disease resistance, ensuring both quality and longevity.
Today, Domaine Bruno Clair is renowned for wines that embody precision, elegance, and terroir expression, making it a benchmark estate for Burgundy enthusiasts worldwide
