More About The Winery
Château de Marchesseau is a family-owned estate located in Lalande-de-Pomerol, on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, just north of the prestigious Pomerol appellation. The vineyard benefits from a classic terroir of clay and gravel soils, well suited to Merlot, which forms the backbone of the wines, complemented by smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The estate focuses on producing elegant, approachable Bordeaux with ripe fruit, supple tannins, and balanced structure. Vineyard work emphasizes careful parcel selection, controlled yields, and sustainable farming practices to preserve the character of the terroir. Harvesting is carried out at optimal maturity to ensure concentration while maintaining freshness.
In the cellar, vinification is traditional and precise, with temperature-controlled fermentation and gentle extraction. Ageing typically takes place in French oak barrels, adding structure and subtle spice while preserving the purity of fruit. Château de Marchesseau wines are known for their generous texture, dark fruit profile, and smooth, refined finish, offering classic Right Bank character with excellent drinkability.
