Clos des Grives Solitaire is an exceptional Jura white wine that will delight lovers of complex, powerful dry wines. It's perfect for accompanying dishes with character and can be kept for several years.
This wine is made from the Savagnin grape, an emblematic white variety of the region, known for its complex and powerful oxidative wines.
The vineyard is located 300-350 meters above sea level in the heart of the Jura, near the two prestigious appellations Château-Chalon and l'Etoile, in the small village of Chille. Le Clos des Grives consists of more than 4 hectares, on limestone with south and south-west exposure. The five grape varieties found in this vineyard are Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau.
Clos des Grives was created in 1962 by Gaston Charbonnier, a pioneer in organic viticulture, and in 1968 Le Clos des Grives was the first vineyard in the Jura to be fully certified (EcoCert). Claude Charbonnier took over on his father's death in 1982 and the business continued in the same vein until 2017 when Benoît Mulin bought the business.
