The 2022 Domaine de Trévallon red, a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the Alpilles, is a complex, structured, and decidedly age-worthy wine. It shows a brilliant carmine red color and an intense, expressive nose of ripe black fruits—blackberry and plum—layered with garrigue, white pepper, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is refined and poised, with silky tannins supported by high-quality, well-balanced acidity, giving both precision and long-term potential.

More About The Winery

Founded in the early 1970s by Éloi Durrbach, Domaine de Trévallon has become one of the most iconic and sought-after estates in Provence. Trained as an architect in Paris, Éloi left his career to pursue a passion for wine, planting Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in 1973 against conventional advice. His bold vision gave birth to a style that would forever change perceptions of Provence wine.

Refusing to alter his blends to meet AOC regulations, Éloi chose to bottle his wines under IGP Alpilles — a decision that reinforced the domaine’s independence and authenticity. Today, Alpilles Rouge stands as a benchmark: bold yet refined, with structure, freshness, and impressive ageing potential, making it a perfect match for grilled meats and rich Provençal cuisine.
