More About The Winery
Domaine de Vaccelli is a family estate located in Cognocoli-Monticchi in the Taravu Valley, between Ajaccio and Propriano in southern Corsica. Founded in the 1960s, the domaine has been developed over generations by the Courrèges family, who are dedicated to showcasing the identity of Corsica through native grape varieties and precise vineyard work.
The vineyard spans around 25 hectares planted on decomposed granite soils, a defining feature that brings freshness, elegance, and mineral tension to the wines. The estate focuses primarily on indigenous Corsican grapes such as Sciaccarellu, Niellucciu, Vermentinu, and Carcaghjolu Neru, producing wines that reflect the Mediterranean climate while maintaining balance and finesse.
Viticulture follows organic principles with low yields and careful manual work in the vineyards. In the cellar, winemaking is gentle and low-intervention, with limited extraction and restrained oak influence to preserve purity of fruit and terroir expression. Domaine de Vaccelli is now considered one of Corsica’s leading estates, known for elegant, aromatic, and terroir-driven wines from the Ajaccio appellation.
