More About The Winery
Founded in 1962 by Gaston Charbonnier, Le Clos des Grives holds a special place in the history of French wine as a true pioneer of organic viticulture. In 1968, it became the first Jura estate certified by Nature et Progrès, long before organic farming became mainstream.
After Gaston’s passing in 1982, his son Claude Charbonnier carried on the family vision, maintaining a deep respect for the environment. In 2007, the estate was acquired by François Petite, who modernized facilities while preserving its artisanal spirit. Since 2017, ownership has passed to Benoît Mulin, his cousin Christophe Mulin, and a small group of shareholders, ushering in a new chapter while staying true to the domaine’s heritage.
Today, Le Clos des Grives continues to craft authentic Jura wines with a focus on terroir and biodiversity. From Savagnin and Chardonnay whites to expressive Poulsard and Pinot Noir reds, the wines are admired for their freshness, character, and precision, embodying the unique soils and climate of the Jura.
