Tasting notes

The 2015 Domaine de Trévallon Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence (Alpilles), from this outstanding estate just south of Avignon, is a clear success. Built on a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, it delivers a beautifully expressive perfume of sweet red and black fruits, tobacco leaf, ground pepper, and classic herbes de Provence. The palate is medium to full-bodied, combining intensity with elegance, supported by ultra-fine tannins and superb balance. The finish is long and assured, confirming a refined, graceful wine with excellent aging potential.

More About The Winery

Founded in the early 1970s by Éloi Durrbach, Domaine de Trévallon has become one of the most iconic and sought-after estates in Provence. Trained as an architect in Paris, Éloi left his career to pursue a passion for wine, planting Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in 1973 against conventional advice. His bold vision gave birth to a style that would forever change perceptions of Provence wine.

Refusing to alter his blends to meet AOC regulations, Éloi chose to bottle his wines under IGP Alpilles — a decision that reinforced the domaine’s independence and authenticity. Today, Alpilles Rouge stands as a benchmark: bold yet refined, with structure, freshness, and impressive ageing potential, making it a perfect match for grilled meats and rich Provençal cuisine.

With vineyards nestled in the wild landscapes of the Alpilles, farmed with respect for nature, Trévallon produces wines of depth, balance, and timeless character.
