Tasting notes
Crafted from old-vine Grenache Blanc, this 2023 cuvée offers remarkable depth and precision. The nose is expressive, with aromas of white peach, pear, citrus zest, and delicate floral notes, underpinned by hints of fennel, anise, and a subtle saline edge. On the palate, the wine is broad and textured yet finely chiseled, combining richness with a striking mineral freshness. A touch of discreet oak frames the fruit without overpowering it, leading to a long, lingering finish marked by tension and elegance. This is a benchmark expression of Grenache Blanc—complex, vibrant, and full of character.
More About The Winery
Founded in 1998 by Hervé Bizeul — former “Best Young Sommelier of France,” wine journalist, and Paris wine bar owner — Domaine du Clos des Fées has become one of the most acclaimed estates in Roussillon. What began with a small, garage-made vintage quickly turned into an international success story, with the wines now sought after by collectors worldwide.
The domaine’s vineyards stretch across diverse terroirs, up to 15 km apart, with exposures and soils ranging from granite to limestone. Many plots feature century-old vines, hand-harvested and farmed with a philosophy of respect for nature.
With plantings focused on Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Grenache Blanc, and Grenache Gris, Clos des Fées produces wines of remarkable depth, concentration, and finesse. Ageing in oak barriques and bottling without filtration further enhances their character and authenticity.
