Tasting notes
The 2022 Bourgogne Blanc Clos du Château from Château de Meursault offers a vibrant and elegant expression of Chardonnay, often described as a true “baby Meursault.” The nose is bright and inviting, revealing aromas of yellow fruits—peach, pear, and citrus zest—lifted by delicate white floral notes. Subtle toasty nuances of almond, brioche, and vanilla add depth and refinement without overshadowing the fruit.
On the palate, the wine is harmonious and well-balanced, combining a creamy, supple texture with bright, refreshing acidity. A finely defined mineral line brings precision and energy, while the discreet oak influence provides structure and complexity rather than weight. The finish is long, layered, and elegant, echoing both fruit purity and gentle toast.
With its immediate charm and underlying structure, this Bourgogne Blanc delivers excellent drinkability now, while clearly reflecting the style and pedigree of Château de Meursault.
More About The Winery
With 60 hectares of vines – including 23 hectares in Premier Cru and Grand Cru appellations – Château de Meursault is one of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious estates. Its history dates back to the 11th century, and over the centuries it has passed through the hands of prominent Burgundy families, each leaving their mark.
In the 19th century, the Serre family expanded the estate and transformed the Château’s architecture, while later owners continued to develop its vineyards. In 1973, André Boisseaux, founder of the Kriter Group, restored the property with vision and passion. Since 2012, the estate has been under the stewardship of Olivier Halley, a dedicated wine lover deeply committed to Burgundy’s heritage.
Today, Château de Meursault produces wines that reflect the richness of its extraordinary terroirs, embodying finesse, depth, and the timeless grandeur of Burgundy.
