Tasting notes
Crafted with a focus on freshness, purity, and elegance, this cuvée showcases the meticulous blending of reserve wines aged 2 to 3 years, ensuring consistent pleasure year after year. With 3 to 4 years of ideal cellar aging, this Champagne achieves a natural balance and refreshing character, allowing for a delicate low dosage of just 8g/l. Following disgorgement, the wines are carefully rested for several weeks, resulting in a cuvée that is ready to be savored the moment it is released.
The story begins in 1985 when Maryline and Gervais Perrot purchased a wine press from Jean Raulet, a winemaker in Bergères-les-Vertus. A year later, they launched their own Champagne brand, G. Perrot-Batteux, with Gervais managing operations and Maryline overseeing vineyards and sales. Their business grew steadily until 1999, when economic conditions favored selling grapes by weight, forcing them to halt Champagne production. Despite this setback, they focused on maintaining their vineyard with hopes of resuming their Champagne business.
In 2009, after a decade of perseverance, the brand was revived as Champagne Perrot-Batteux & Filles, reflecting the involvement of their daughters, Cynthia and Céline. Cynthia, with experience from various Champagne houses, returned to manage sales and export operations, while Céline, based in Paris, supported the brand as a client liaison. In an industry dominated by men, the daughters are now carrying forward the family legacy, prioritizing authenticity, character, sensitivity, and sincerity.
