“A 100% Chardonnay cuvée from grapes purchased at Domaine Gerbeaut, on the Meursault plain. Sustainable farming. The grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification: direct pressing then transfer by gravity into barrels (25% new oak) for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation and maturation on the lees for one year without racking or stirring. Bottled in August 2020.” Morgan Truchetet
Domaine Truchetet is located in the Premeaux-Prissey commune, in the region of Nuits-Saint-Georges and just north of the city of Beaune. It has been in the same family of winemakers for six generations, and recently the baton was passed from father Jean-Pierre to his children Morgan and Julie.
The estate consists of plots with a range of appellations, such as Cotes de Nuits Villages and Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits. Morgan and Julie have spent a lot of time and effort in trying new practices to better care for the vineyard, such as plant and seaweed treatments and organic viticulture.
