  • Situated in the place of origin of the appellation above the village of Saint-Péray and aged 80 years, the vines are the oldest of the domain and of the appellation. This slope of granite mixed with limestone colluvium faces South-East. It stands opposite Château de Crussol and the mountain range of the same name.

    Vintage 2018

For the third year in a row, it was a hot and dry season, but less early than the two before. The hydric deficit and heats that blocked the maturities on some sensitive plots, have been compensated by two beautiful rains at the end of the season. Light powdery mildew pressure on all the vineyard. It should be noted that the historical terroir of Saint-Péray (old Marsanne vines on clay- limestone soils) shows excellent capabilities in heatwave conditions. The quality of harvest was very good at the end, normal quantities, and very beautiful juices after the winemaking.

Story:This wine was created in 1999 by Alain Voge with the friendly assistance of the late Daniel Denis, sommelier from the Lyon area and an expert representative of Rhone Valley wines. The Crussol mountain range, which gave its name to the wine, is extremely important for the Saint-Péray AOC, because it provides limestone elements essential for making fine white wines.

    Total production:7.650 bottles / 140 magnums

‘This Saint Peray demonstrates exceptional freshness and energy. It is as intensely rich as ever, and overflowing with honeyed flavours of peach and pineapple framed by toasted notes. On the palate, the texture is as broad as possible and extends into a long finish. It is quite simply wonderful!’

    93 / 100 Jeb Dunnuck

“Rocking honeyed pineapple, caramelized peach, spice, and brioche notes all emerge from the 2019 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol, a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Saint-Péray that develops more salinity and minerality with time in the glass. I love its overall balance, and while it's drinking great today, it has a solid decade of prime drinking ahead of it.”

Domaine Voge is located in Cornas, in the Rhone Valley. It is one of the most renowned estate of the designation. Voge estate was created by Henri Voge (Alain's grandfather). Alain's father died prematurely, that's why in 1965 he took over after his grandfather and developed bottling for the estate's wines (that used to be directly sold to the trade). The Alain Voge estate owns many great vineyards that are mostly located on the hillsides, and that covers 13 Ha, all in all, including 7 Ha of Rhone red (100% Syrah) in Cornas, 1 Ha in St Joseph, and 5 Ha of 100% white Marsanne located in Saint Peray Protected Designation of Origin. The biodynamic conversion of the estate started in 2006. It was fully achieved in 2013. With many old vines plots, the Alain Voge estate gets quality grapes to create different cuvees, among the wide range that they produce. In the Saint Peray Protected Designation of Origin, the Harmony, Ongrie, and Fleur de Crussol cuvees are produced. Fleur de Crussol is the most successful one (made from 70-year old vines).
