Tasting notes

The Domaine Truchetet Bourgogne Chardonnay 2019 presents a fresh and lively profile, marked by bright notes of apple, pear, and delicate citrus, accented by subtle floral and herbal nuances. On the palate, it shows a pleasing balance of creamy roundness and zippy, refreshing acidity, creating both generosity and lift. A refined mineral thread runs throughout, complemented by gentle oak influence—occasionally with hints of acacia—that adds depth and quiet complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long, smooth, and creamy, reflecting the wine’s harmonious character and the richness of the vintage. A well-crafted Bourgogne Chardonnay that overdelivers in texture, balance, and finesse.

More About The Winery

Domaine Morgan Truchetet is a small, family-run estate based in Prémeaux-Prissey, just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits. Morgan Truchetet, alongside his sister Julie, represents the sixth generation of the family and took over the domaine in 2019, bringing a fresh, terroir-focused and low-intervention approach to both vineyard and cellar.

The estate spans around 6 hectares, planted mainly to Pinot Noir with smaller parcels of Chardonnay and Aligoté. The vineyards are located across Bourgogne, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Côte de Nuits-Villages, and villages including Nuits-Saint-Georges, Morey-Saint-Denis, and Gevrey-Chambertin. Farming follows organic principles, with meticulous vineyard work, low yields, and a strong emphasis on vine health and soil expression.

Winemaking is precise and minimalist, using indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction, and a careful, restrained use of oak to preserve purity and freshness. The wines are known for their elegance, vibrant fruit, and fine tannic structure, reflecting a modern yet classic interpretation of Côte de Nuits terroirs.
