Tasting notes: Aromas of blood orange, wildflowers, pomegranate jam. Creamy and full-bodied; red fruits, lemon zest, light spice.
One of the greatest rosé wines of Champagne and a wine of haunting finesse. The blend is 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay, with 50% from the 2015 vintage and the other half vins de réserve. Then there is the 5% of Egly's Coteaux Champenois Rouge (the finest red wine of the AOC in our opinion, and not only ours) that gives the wine its colour--and a great deal of character as well. Dosage is a negligible 4g/l. The fruit is from 100% Grand Cru vines, grown by one of the most meticulous vignerons in the region.
Unbelievably fine, perfumed and Pinot-fruited, this is, as always, something truly special. It's fascinating that this is always Egly's most delicate wine, and also one of the wines that sells out fastest each year.
